Police believe the Holden Cruze involved in a car crash at Charlestown this morning may have been stolen.
Just before 1:30am, the car smashed into a concrete barrier along the Pacific Highway, forcing a section of it to close.
Three men allegedly exited the car and fled the scene.
A female passenger was taken to the John Hunter Hospital for surgery, while a man also attended hospital for treatment at around 3am.
An investigation is now underway.
