Newcastle has become the home to the first of NRMA’s electric vehicle charging stations.
The station has been unveiled at Wallsend, in the carpark on the corner of Nelson and Kemp Streets.
It will allow electric cars to be fully charged within 20 to 30 minutes.
The NRMA is looking to install 40 stations across the state with a few more expected to be installed in Newcastle over the next year.
They’re hoping to have the stations within 150kms of one another, in a bid to reduce the range anxiety associated with electric cars.
The station will available to all motorists to start with, before becoming exclusively available to members.
