Police are investigating a suspected organised crime group that’s thought to be committing fraud and stealing offences through Lake Macquarie.
Officers say the group of both men and women, has been targeting young female employees at retail stores and fast food restaurants.
It’s understood the group would start an argument with staff, and trick them into handing over cash.
They have reportedly targeted stores in Morisset, Charlestown, Swansea and Wyee over the past month.
The group may be driving a silver Holden Commodore with Victorian plates, which has been spotted at the time of the offences.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
