Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery at East Maitland yesterday.
Two men approached the employee at the counter of a service station on the New England Highway around 3:20am.
One asked for cigarettes but admitted he couldn’t pay for them so the employee refused to hand them over.
The alleged offender threatened the attendant with a bottle before pushing him and taking the cigarettes.
The other man reportedly involved searched the employee’s backpack and stole other items from the store.
Both men then fled the scene, heading in a westerly direction.
Investigating police have so far been unable to locate them.
The first man is described as being around 170cm tall, 30-35 years old with a medium build and was last seen wearing an NFL jersey, black cap and camouflage pants.
The other man is described as being around 20-years-old, 165cm tall with a medium build and he was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved shirt, grey pants and a black cap.
