Two cars have been substantially damaged by fire in Wallsend.
Around 5 am yesterday fire crews were called to Dangar street after reports a car was on fire.
Upon arrival crews located two vehicles which had been partially destroyed, a local resident was able to extinguish the flames before their arrival.
No one was injured in the incident – anyone with information to is urged to contact crime stoppers or Waratah police.
