Lake Macquarie Council has applied to change the name of a reserve at Murrays Beach.
The Geographical Names Board is seeking feedback on the proposal to rename the area at Lake Forest Drive to Karakai Park.
The new proposed title means ‘to be active’ and is derived from the local Awabakal language.
Feedback is open on the Geographical Names Board website until June 24.
