Three people have been charged following a spate of bottle shop stealing incidents.
Investigations began in November last year after detectives linked more than 10 stealing incidents from bottle shops across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
Following extensive enquiries two teenagers were arrested early yesterday morning.
A 17 -year- old boy has been charged with several offences including ten counts of larceny, while and 18 -year -old man was charged with three counts of larceny and goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
Both were refused bail to face children’s court and Belmont Local Court respectively.
Following further enquires a second 18 -year -old was arrested following a search warrant on a home in Charlestown yesterday afternoon.
During the search police allegedly uncovered and seized numerous bottles of liquor and a purse believed to be stolen.
The man was charged with numerous offences and granted strict bail to appear before Belmont Court on January 31.
