One man has died and another has been arrested at Raymond Terrace this morning.
Just before 2am, emergency services rushed to Cambridge Avenue to reports a man had been found with serious head injuries.
A 38-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, but sadly died at the scene.
Initial inquiries suggest the man had been involved in an altercation when he was allegedly assaulted.
A 29-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he had been assisting police.
He has since been taken to Maitland Hospital for assessment.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death is underway with forensic officers spending the morning scouring the crime scene on Cambridge Avenue.
