NSW Police have revealed their latest move in the ongoing war on the Hunter’s outlaw bikie gangs, with the announcement of a permanent strike force in the region.
Strike Force Raptor North will be based locally as police continue to dismantle outlaw bikie gangs, namely the Finks and Nomads.
The unit is a direct follow-up from the work of Strike Force Raptor which has been operating in the Hunter for several months.
It means a team of 23 investigators, highway patrol officers and intelligence staff will set-up in the region to take on organised crime.
They will also have access to more resources including those in the Australian Taxation Office, NSW Crime Commission and Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
“We will be relentless, we will not be taking our foot off their throat.” said Assistant Region Commissioner, Max Mitchell.
Since the Taskforce has been operating, they’ve conducted 45 operations which have resulted in the arrest of 23 people.
Police are also reminding the public to come forward in the fight against organised crime, by calling Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
