Police are investigating after a service station in Wallsend was robbed overnight.
Officers say a man entered the BP Service Station along Newcastle Road just after 11pm and threatened the 19-year-old worker with a knife.
The alleged thief fled on foot after the worker handed over cash and cigarettes.
He’s described as being aged between 25 and 30 and was wearing a dark hooded jumper with dark pants.
Anyone with more information is urged to contact police.
