Paramedics have airlifted a young boy to hospital after a house at Singleton Heights was completely gutted by fire this morning.
At about 8am, emergency services were called to Bridgeman Road after a property went up in flames.
Five occupants, including a woman and four children managed to escape with minor injuries.
However, a 5-year-old suffered serious burns and is now in a critical condition at Westmead Hospital.
A crime scene has now been established and Hunter Valley Police are investigating.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
