The man behind the wheel of a fatal crash at Salamander Bay earlier this year has now been slapped with extra charges.
In the early hours of April 13, a Mazda 3 hatchback plowed into a tree near the intersection of George and Soldiers Point Road.
One passenger died at the scene while another passed away en route to hospital.
The 31-year-old driver also suffered serious injuries but was later taken into custody.
He’s now facing an extra five charges, including driving under the influence of an illicit drug.
He’s due to appear in Newcastle court again on October 17, 2018.
