A man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted and threatened paramedics who were trying to help him.
The paramedics were called to Honeysuckle Drive around 6:30pm yesterday over concerns for the man’s wellbeing after he was reported unconscious outside a food outlet.
However he reportedly became violent and threatening towards them, trying to punch one and pushing the other backwards.
The 29-year-old was arrested in a nearby apartment a short time later and has now been charged with two counts of common assault and two counts of intimidation.
He was granted bail and will front Newcastle Local Court on October 25.
The paramedics were not physically harmed, but were shaken by the incident.
