A man has died after his motorbike collided with a car at Thornton this afternoon.
Police have confirmed they were called to the scene on Glenwood Drive at around 2:20pm, with reports of the accident.
When they arrived they found a blue Mitsibishi wagon had collided with the motorcyclist.
The male rider died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified, however Police believe he is aged 38.
The driver of the vehicle – a 70 year old woman – was uninjured, but was arrested and taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory testing and released pending further inquiries
Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
