Early action for Newcastle fire crews this morning after fire broke out amongst machinery at Eraring Power Station
Crews were called to the scene just before 5.30am after workers discovered a fire in a coal pulverizing machine.
Staff commenced fire attack before the professionals arrived on scene with both a pump and fire tanker.
RFS crews assisted and the machinery monitored for some time before being rendered safe.
There were no injuries.
